POOR QUESNEL, POOR QUESNEL, POOR QUESNEL
http://www.city.quesnel.bc.ca/DocumentBank/Budget/2010/2010.Budget.overview.pdf
Poor Quesnel, page 4 of this report indicates the average price of a single family dwelling in Quesnel is $157,818.
The average price of a single family dwelling in Canada is $337,410.
Poor Quesnel........I want $337,000 for my house too,...Poor Quesnel.
Poor Quesnel is less that 1/2 the average Canadian single family dwelling price,...less than 1/2 the average price in Canada...even if the prices doubled,....the prices would still be less than the average in Canada. POOR QUESNEL.

well...maybe Poor Quesnel should do something about attracting more new businesses and famillies to relocate in POOR QUESNEL...and Poor Quesnel should build a big honkin shopping mall that everyone will come from miles around just to spend all their hard earned dollars in POOR QUESNEL.And I don't mean Wallmart. Good idea don't ya think! House prices would go up then.

Re: POOR QUESNEL, POOR QUESNEL, POOR QUESNEL
Prices are kept low by greedy real estate people who want to sell fast and collect commission fast.

Faster money means less advertising costs, and less running around showing homes.

They are lazy, their service stinks and they are getting paid to much.

On top of that they park in front of their offices taking away valuable parking spots from people wanting to shop downtown.

The BC Assesment must have thought that the quality of homes in this area is POOR.
They also use the homes sales prices in this area to get the assessed value...POOR VALUE I guess.
POOR QUALITY, POOR VALUE, POOR QUESNEL.
I guess the City will just have to raise the MILL RATE to pay for running the City.
POOR CITY of Quesnel!

I guess it will go even lower now that we're losing our BIG LIQUIDATION WORLD. According to todays paper they are closing their doors forever. and...speaking of our local paper, has anyone else noticed how small and newsless it's becoming?

Low house prices was one of the main reasons I moved back here.

Re: POOR QUESNEL, POOR QUESNEL, POOR QUESNEL
There sure won't be many tenants left at Maple Park Mall. If you go in there on a rainy or melting day and enter at the main doors where the grocery store used to be you can usually hear water dripping. Apparently the roof is so bad there is tarps holding back the water. I guess the owner is just waiting for the rest of the tenants to leave before he shuts it down totally. I can remember when that mall was full. Bata shoe store, tobacco shop tanning/exersize place, jewelery store, Reitmans, and West Park mall was even full then too. This was long before Walmart, our population was higher then too.
